Frequently Asked Questions

How Should I Prepare for My First Sugaring Appointment?

If you’re getting a body sugaring service done, exfoliate the skin 24-48 hours before the appointment. Doing so will help the hair lift from the skin, and in turn help lessen the discomfort. Do not have caffeine or alcohol before your appointment. If you’re not allergic, you can also take an anti-histamine 30 minutes to an hour before the appointment.

How long does my body hair have to be to get sugared?

You should grow your hair out for at least two and a half weeks to three weeks. The longer the hair, the better the results. It should be as long as a grain of rice or longer.

How often should I get sugared?

For facial waxing, every 3-5 weeks. Underarms, every 2-3 weeks. Brazilian, arms, legs, every 4-6 weeks. Ultimately, it depends on how quickly your particular hair grows back.

What is the Aftercare Like for Sugaring?

Aftercare for sugaring, to avoid ingrown hairs and bumps is absolutely imperative. Everyone will still get an ingrown hair here and there, but what you do at home between waxes can really help prevent them. We recommend these steps:

  1. Do not shave between appointments. This can disrupt the growth cycle of the hair and cause you to have hair growing at all times between appointments.

  2. Exfoliate 3-4 times a week using either a physical exfoliator or a chemical one, such as glycolic/salicylic acid. Do not use sugar or salt scrubs on the bikini area, as these products can clog the follicles and cause ingrowns and even yeast infections.

  3. MOISTURIZE! Moisturize every. single. day. Twice if you can. Dead skin buildup and dry skin are the biggest causes of ingrown hairs.

  4. Keep up with your sugaring. If you’re consistent, you’ll see the best results and have the happiest skin!
